Back in March I threw a party to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday party! I wanted to create an invitation that was masculine and that fit his personality. I chose a black, white and grey colour palette and created him a hipster logo (because he’s really a hipster…even if he denies it!)
The party was held at OverJoy on Queen Street East in Toronto and was the perfect venue for the size of our party (and for the proximity to our house.) The invitation set the tone and our guests came ready to dance and party and we all had a blast! Michael Coombs was our amazing DJ. The evening started with some back beats and then moved into some killer dance tunes. A few guests even asked Michael if we could do this every Friday!
I had a cake created by Bobette and Belle with the design from his invitations on top. The cake was delicious and everyone was raving about it. We actually still have a few pieces in our freezer which I think I’ll get out for dessert tonight!
Check out the photos below from the party – you can also see more of the stationery (and custom napkins I created) here.
I created a hashtag for the party and asked people to share their photos of the evening on instagram.
We also had a Photo Booth from Mango Studios which was SO MUCH FUN!!! We had our boys at the party for an hour and I was busy welcoming guests and discovered that they were testing out the Photo Booth. The photos are hilarious and such amazing keepsakes from the party. Here are just a few… (I didn’t know if our guests would want their photos published on the blog so just kept it to our family.)
We also got some awesome animated gifs!
